It was a surprise
If you don’t know who I am yet, you haven’t been on the Team page to read our little bio. My name is Princess and I am a 2 1/2 year old tabby cat.
I wanted to write a little story to tell you how I am as a member of the DriftlessNow.com Crisis Response Team. So, I decided to put this on the features page, because hello, I am a Princess and the feature of everything going on! I had the opportunity to help my family this past weekend. They say my (fur) brothers and I are supposed to help them when they are going through a tough time or something like that.
Well, this weekend my Mommy and Grandma threw my Daddy, Paul, a surprise birthday party. Now, let me tell you, I have had a lot of surprises in my short little life, like every time they bring home groceries. I am surprised when they buy me salmon or a can of tuna. I have never had a surprise like this one though.
My Mommy was making all of this food, but didn’t give me any. Then, she was putting up all these decorations, as she called them. So, I decided, this was my big chance to prove to be part of the Crisis Response Team. My Mommy was running around the house doing all of this stuff, so I decided to help her with the decorations. My brothers and her were blowing up these things they called balloons. Well, I had never seen balloons before, so I had to smell them and look through them at what was on the other side. Then, they put these streamers all over the house that were purple and said happy birthday. No, I can’t read, but that’s what people kept saying, so I assumed that’s what they said.
So, after my Mommy got done hanging these four streamers from the door way, I decided to help take them down. I mean, come on, they were in the way of people walking. So, I secretly jumped up about 4 feet in the air and took them down one by one. Don’t you agree that I was being helpful?
Then, there were all these people coming to my house, and kept asking when my Daddy would be here. I figured out what the real surprise was. It wasn’t for me like I thought at first. It was this surprise party that my Mommy, Grandma, and brothers kept talking about when my Daddy wasn’t here. When he got here, my Mom yelled surprise! Way to ruin my day. I ended up sleeping most of the day after that because I was so upset it wasn’t anything for me.
Now, I have to run….right after I bother my Daddy to get me some salmon while he is busy writing articles. I need to get outside on the screened-in porch because it is going to be getting dark out and that’s when the moths and June bugs come flying by the screen and I try to get them. Thank you for reading my article. I may write again if I end up staying on the team.
