Heritage Day

Celebrate the Fourth of July holiday in the beautiful museum backyard with a day of classic American outdoor games, historical demonstrations, special exhibits, live music, and food. Half-off admission for the Mine Tour and Train Ride!

Free activities include:
- Music by the Wundo Band from Noon-4:00 p.m.
- Classic car display by Southwest Wisconsin Auto Club
- Hit and Miss Engines & Antique Tractors
- Demonstrations of spinning wheels, treadle jigsaw, player pianos, mechanical music boxes, gramophones, and gas engines
- 19th century games, including hoops, horseshoes, graces, croquet, and stilts

Brats, hot dogs, and ice cream will be available from the Platteville Music Boosters Food Stand.

The Fourth of July 5K run begins and ends at The Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums. This run/walk will help raise funds for next year's fireworks. This run/walk will "BLAST OFF" at 8 a.m. with a kids race, followed immediately by the 5K. Register online through the Parks & Recreation Department until Friday, June 28th or onsite the day of the event starting at 7:30 a.m.
